The challenges our planet faces in the wake of climate change and globalization are so enormous that it can be easy to feel helpless. However, the way we think and act on the landscape can lead to significant impact if we work together as a community. George Coombs, Director of Horticulture at Mt. Cuba Center, will propose a new horticultural paradigm for the 21st century that seeks to build a more resilient nature, both in your backyard and beyond.

George Coombs is the Director of Horticulture at Mt. Cuba Center (mtcubacenter.org), a public garden dedicated to promoting native plants and sustainable landscape practices, where he oversees all aspects of the gardens and grounds. In previous roles at Mt. Cuba, George has conducted trial garden research on numerous genera, introduced new cultivars to the nursery trade, and published a report on the availability of native plants in the Mid-Atlantic.
