"Planning your Flower Garden for 2022"

A Book Talk with Author, Jenny Rose Carey

Winter is a perfect time to plan your spring, summer, and fall flower garden. Join Jenny Rose Carey as she shares some ideas taken from her upcoming book - The Ultimate Flower Gardener's Guide; Timber Press, 2022.

She will share her favorite flowers for each season and discuss the ways that she likes to combine them into groups using flower shape, form, presence, and color. Learn how she uses her Flower Wish List to get ready for planting season, which ones she will be starting from seed - with techniques, and what flowers she can't wait to see bloom

Jenny Rose Carey is a life-long educator, gardener, garden historian, and self-proclaimed 'hortnut'. She gardened in England for the first part of her life and in Pennsylvania for the last thirty-four years. She has been developing the varied four and a half-acre garden surrounding their Victorian house - Northview - for nearly a quarter of a century. Jenny has held various jobs including teaching at Temple University and the Barnes Foundation, Director of the Ambler Arboretum at Temple University, and Senior Director at PHS Meadowbrook Farm.

She is the co-author of 'A Century of Cultivation' (2011) and the author of 'Glorious Shade' (2017 - Timber Press). The new book about flowers for sunny areas is scheduled to be released in summer 2022 - supply chain issues permitting! Follow her on Instagram to see her garden - and hopefully future garden travels @NorthviewGarden.
