A Visit to Bob & Nancy’s Seven Springs Farm

Seven Springs Farm comprises 10 acres of gardens and a historic home nestled in the rolling forested hills of Chester County. Owners Bob and Nancy Holman have developed the gardens from only four trees over the past 25 years. Today the property contains approximately 600 trees including 375 tagged species.

The gardens span a Pinetum with a variety of mature, highly unusual conifers; a series of waterfalls leading to and from a koi pond surrounded by perennials, small shrubs, and deciduous trees; and vistas across the landscape down to Pine Creek. A thriving monkey-puzzle tree (Araucaria araucana), Wolf Eyes dogwood (Cornus kousa ‘Wolf Eyes’), and an extremely rare Ginkgo biloba ‘Chi chi’ featuring unusual protuberances (clusters of dormant buds) on the bark are just a few of the horticultural highlights.

The property dates to at least 1769 and the stone house (1779), original home, and spring house add to the location’s charm.

This is a garden with rolling ups and downs, so please be sure to wear sturdy shoes! Restrooms will not be available.

This is a Members Only event, but registration is required. $5 per attendee.Maximum number of guests is 25.

Registration opens April 5.  Registration closes June 3.

Our visit will be held on Thursday June 5, 2025 in clear skies or light rain. If we have heavy rain, our visit will be held on our Rain Date, Friday, June 6, 2025.
