Charles Cresson studied and trained in England, including the grand flower borders of the Broad Walk at Wisley Garden. He has since maintained the flower borders at Hedgleigh Spring for over 45 years, as well as flower gardens in several public gardens. Learning through trial and error, he has experimented with hundreds of varieties of perennials, annuals, biennials and bulbs. His gardens have not remained static but have evolved over time. He is the author of Charles Cresson on The American Flower Garden, available online from 2^nd hand booksellers. In 2023, Charles was honored as the first recipient of the “Jim Bobb Memorial Award,” an award created to recognize members whose outstanding contributions and long-term service have significantly enriched and expanded HPS/MAG.
