2026 HPS/MAG Annual Meeting and Lecture

Guest Speaker – Colin Crosbie:  "The Winter Garden"

A Hybrid (In-Person & Virtual) Event

Per our HPS/MAG Bylaws, we will have a brief 30-minute business meeting that includes State of the Organization, Finances, Vote for 2027 Board Candidates, and Recognition Awards. The lecture will follow. Light refreshments will be served following the program. The meeting will conclude no later than 3:30 pm.

The Winter Garden

No need to have a dreary and unexciting patch in the winter months. Colin Crosbie, our speaker, will cover everything from bulbs to trees, all of which can bring color and interest into gardens during the winter months.

Speaker Bio:

Our speaker comes to us from Scotland. Colin Crosbie studied horticulture at the West of Scotland Agricultural College. He then worked in the Savill and Valley Gardens in Windsor Great Park before being appointed as Head Gardener to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother at Royal Lodge Windsor. Colin then moved to RHS Garden Wisley, first as a Superintendent before being appointed Curator in 2010. Colin is a passionate plantsman with a keen interest in garden design and has appeared on radio and television gardening programs and is in demand as a guest speaker and garden guide. Colin is also the immediate past President of the Scottish Rock Garden Club and is currently a trustee for Scotland’s Garden Scheme for which he opens his garden annually, as well as a trustee for The Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society. In 2026, he was awarded the Scottish Horticultural Medal (SHM), the highest honor in Scottish horticulture, awarded by the Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society (known as "The Caley").
