POP at The Woodlands – Site Visit and Orchard Tour

Join us for a private tour of the Philadelphia Orchard Project (POP), a recipient of multiple HPS Grants since 2017.  POP is a non-profit organization that works with community groups and volunteers to plan and plant orchards in formerly vacant lots, community gardens, schoolyards, and other spaces to enrich neighborhoods lacking in access to fresh food.  During this process, they educate the community to build, maintain and harvest the orchards.

Executive Directors Kim Jordan and Phil Forsyth will welcome us, with Kim leading the site tour of POP headquarters and the Learning Orchard.  Visiting POP Woodlands offers an opportunity to understand the impact of HPS Grant funding, which has been used to create shade and pollinator gardens at the Woodlands site.

Open to members and nonmembers. Registration is required. Cost is $10 for members; $20 for nonmembers. Registration fees will be donated to the Philadelphia Orchard Project.  

Maximum number of attendees is 20.

This trip has been cancelled and will be rescheduled in the spring.

Event will be held rain or shine. In the event of heavy rain, the event will be cancelled.
