Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

Special Interest Group (SIG) leaders plan garden and nursery visits and workshops of particular interest to enthusiasts of water gardens, native plants, and tender perennials. HPS/MAG has over 1000 members living across a wide area, so we have also inaugurated geographic Special Interest Groups to bring programs nearer to members. Smaller groups and informal outings provide opportunities to meet and share with gardeners of similar interests. HPS/MAG membership includes being a member of all SIGs and all members are invited to participate in SIG events. Check the calendar often for listings. You may contact individual SIG leaders for more information, to share ideas for future events, or to volunteer to help out. Directions to private gardens, supply lists, etc. will be sent to registrants.

Interested in starting a new SIG?  Are you interested in a particular aspect of gardening, or live in an area where you'd like to meet other HPS members, but no Special Interest Group currently exists? If so, perhaps you would like to form your own Special Interest Group. HPS/MAG will help you get started by advertising events, and providing ideas, registration and other support. Leaders plan two or more events each year and provide the attendee list and a brief report at the conclusion of each program.

HPS relies on volunteers to make these groups work. Please contact [email protected] if you are interested in serving as a SIG Leader, or need more information.
