Lavender Fields of Warwick Furnace Farm –
Private Tour with Lavender Wand Workshop

Warwick Furnace Farm is a family-owned and operated farm in rural Pennsylvania. The farm is located in the heart of the French Creek valley in Chester County, home to the historic Warwick Furnace, a furnace that furnished armaments for George Washington’s army, produced the Franklin stove and manufactured the components for the first metal-clad ship during the Civil War. The farm’s stone buildings and barns date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. The farm is surrounded by more than 500 acres of preserved land in a valley with the pristine French Creek flowing through it.

Our private tour will include a brief history of the property, an overview of the lavender cultivars and their uses, and an introduction to the farm’s region-specific growing practices with a product demonstration. You are invited to walk amongst the rows of flowers, looking out over the pastoral Thomas P. Bentley Nature Preserve. There will be a lavender-cutting demonstration after which you can pick your own lavender bundle to take home with you. The tour will finish off with a refreshing glass of lavender lemonade.

Following the field tour there will be a Lavender Wand Weaving Workshop. Learn the historic art of weaving lavender to capture the fragrance of lavender for months to come with this decorative craft. You will cut lavender in the fields, learn how to weave velvet-ribbon wands, and make your own wand to take home. All materials and tools to create one lavender wand are included. The workshop lasts approx. one hour.

After the tour and workshop, you may wish to shop, with your 10% discount, at the farm store, where it looks like every conceivable lavender inspired product can be purchased; or explore the Gallery, Artist Studios and Garden on your own.
