Spring at Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens – Azaleas Galore – and More!

If you’ve never visited Jenkins Arboretum when the azaleas are in bloom, you must join us for this tour. If you have been on this tour in the past, you’re probably excited to hear that Steve Wright, the Director of Horticulture and Curator at Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens, will once again be leading us on a leisurely spring stroll through the gardens. The woodland gardens will be teeming with spring ephemerals, and the many ornamental native trees and early-blooming azaleas should be in their full glory. Steve will show us some of his spring favorites and will also lead us around the pond to discuss the many changes to the landscape and some ideas for future improvements.

General admission to Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens is free. The gift shop, restrooms, art gallery, and plant shop will all be open. Jenkins is a great place to find many native plants for sale at affordable prices!

Participants can arrive anytime but the 2-hour tour leaves promptly at 1:00 pm. Arriving 15 minutes early is preferable.Wear comfortable sturdy shoes as this is a hilly site and there will be a fair amount of walking, mostly on paths. The event will take place in light rain; rain date in the event of heavy rain is Monday, May 13. Carpool if possible as parking is limited at popular times.

Members only. This event is full. This Pop-Up event costs $15 and registration is required. Maximum number of attendees is 15.
